Poliésteres
Sometimes called oil-free alkyds, polyesters are produced through condensation polymerization.
Unlike their alkyd cousins, they are used exclusively in thermoset applications to produce baking enamels or air-dry, two-component urethanes.
Their main properties are:
- excellent adhesion to metals
- excellent flexibility and impact resistance
- better hardness
- exterior durability,
- yellowing resistance
